The first week of 2018 wasn’t the easiest.. I found it difficult to look at the positive side of things most of the days.
But being grateful is one of my main focus this year and I really really want to stick to it. I know if I can tide the wave, it will be oh-so worth it! So without further ado, here’s my gratitude journal for week 1 of 2018.
1. Monday – My first ever instagram live.
I love instagram stories. It’s such a fun way to connect and let your creative juices flow.
I have been meaning to do a live session on instagram for the longest time. However, I could never gather the nerves to do it. I mean I re-record my stories a million times so you know it ain’t easy going live.. 🤷♀️
But I am so happy to report that I did my first live session on Monday aka 1st January. New year, fearless Monika wohoo! *sees a spider and jumps!* Oh and I want to thank the 5 “genuine” people who tuned in..Ah you guys 😍 🕺🏻
ps – you should totally follow me on instagram. I post alot of fun stories and a tonne of bloopers! #shamelessplug
2. Tuesday – Pomegranate love.
I ❤️ pomegranates. I hate peeling them though. But I gathered the courage on Tuesday and did it! New year, fearless Monika wohoo! *covers her face while watching Black Mirror*. Add a pinch of salt and you can taste a slice of heaven.. Poetic love right here!
3. Wednesday – Californian Rains.
It rarely rains in California. So when it does, you thank the rain gods. I love the sound of splattering rain drops. I lit a candle and it was the perfect cozy Wednesday.
4. Thursday – The world of Harry Potter.
Magical and more magical. Exactly how Harry Potter makes me feel. I am re-reading the series and it has been the most fun one-month. Thursday was not an easy day but reading this piece of magic made it slightly better.
5. Friday – Self-care is a necessity.
I have completely fallen off the whole self-care bandwagon. So Friday was about putting on a face mask and getting the nails painted. Small acts with the biggest returns. *better than even bitcoin. ok maybe not!*. Try it ☺️
6. Saturday – Family and friends.
Nothing can make you feel as good as meeting and chatting with family and friends. Saturday started with a video chat session with family and ended with meeting long lost friends. It was just what my soul needed. Monika the poet..
7. Sunday – Breakfast of champions.
Omg this bowl of goodness made the gloomy Sunday so much more brighter. I never thought yogurt could taste this good. Super late to the party but now I am never leaving the party!
Flavored Yogurt + Strawberries + blueberries + walnuts + maple syrup = The reason why I am so poetic in this post.
Hope you guys enjoyed reading this post. We always have something to be thankful for. What is one thing you are grateful for today?
Thank you for stopping by and hope you all have a wonderful week ahead. See you all soon.. – Love, M ❤️
