Travel Guide to Mendocino, CA – Day 3 and Cheat Sheet

Mendocino.. you will be the end of me. Ah finally the last day of our travels to the Mendocino Coast is here. As much fun I had sharing the details, I can’t wait to be done writing this post. Why? The first day details were shared almost 3 months back and the second day almost 3 weeks back. So basically our 3 day adventure turned into a 4 month long affair on the blog. 😰

My posts about Mendocino have been all over the place. I know I know..  I am going to get better at writing travel posts I promise. For now, check out the end of the post for a quick cheat sheet so that you have the whole picture on what to do, eat and stay in one place. For now, let’s talk about our 2nd evening and 3rd day adventures in Mendocino (we kept it light). Without further ado, let’s get started!

STAY IN MENDOCINO COAST
The Heritage House

ps- This post isn’t sponsored. I absolutely loved the place and had to share with ya’all. 🙋🏽

pps – I wouldn’t mind if someone in future wants to sponsor my posts. Just saying.. 🤷‍♀️

pps – Get ready for a million pics of the same ocean view from different same angles!

Travel Tip – Do not bring work with you. This place is truly for unwinding and unplugging. We didn’t get any cell service and the internet was choppy. But who can blame when the place is so serene and tranquil..

I have always wanted to stay in a room with an ocean view. Not like teeny tiny speck of a view but full blown ocean view. *My dreams are big but my bank balance not so. 🤷‍♀️ * Ah but I am so glad we decided to book a room in this property for our second night in Mendocino. The Heritage House is located in Little River, a 10-15 minutes drive from Mendocino. This place had most cutest main building with the most cutest red door!

We booked the ocean view room with tub. Check out all the rooms here. The moment we entered the room, I squealed like a little baby and got overly excited aka started taking a million pics!! You really can’t blame me.. Check the video below to see what I mean –

Told ya it’s stunning! Oh also, if you stayed till the end (and you totally should), I meant Palate of Style not late of sty. *Youtube – 1. Monika – 0*

Honestly, I don’t think I can describe the beauty of this place in words.. so I’ll shut up  (for once) and let the million pics do the talking.

pppps – Math geeks I am about to do some serious permutations and combinations with the common factor being the ocean view. Get ready!

And Mr. M chose the most beautiful place to work from. Oh well I don’t blame him.. or do I? 🤔

The property has a gorgeous gazebo and I can only imagine how beautiful of a setting it must make for weddings.. I tried convincing Mr. M to recreate a second wedding of sorts.. a sort of next lifetime we meet again something something.. BUT clearly he wasn’t keen on spending another lifetime with me. So the idea was crushed and thrown into the ocean. 😕 He did compensate by taking pics for the blog which you can find here. My most fav shoot ever.. Also, you can walk around the gorgeous property with picture worthy spots at every corner.

That brings an end to the endless shots of the same view and boring you guys to death.. Lol. Oh another fav part of the room was this bathtub. I love bubble bath just like almost 99% of the world. So this was a bonus and made me a happy camper. 🤘🏽

Places to Eat
5200 Restaurant

We decided to have dinner in the Heritage House restaurant called 5200. They don’t have alot of vegetarian options but the limited number of items were delicious. However, their portion sizes ain’t that big so order based on your hunger level.

Travel Tip – You need to make a reservation and can do it during check in. After dinner, checkout the lounge for some late night game of chess.

GoodLife cafe and bakery

Do not leave Mendocino without checking out the GoodLife cafe and bakery. Almost every website I referred while planning for the trip had a mention of this place. And for a good reason. The food was delicious and hearty.

Places to visit
Point Arena Lighthouse

From the smallest lighthouse to the tallest in Pacific Coast.. I highly recommend visiting the Point Arena lighthouse not only for it’s history and how majestic it looks but the spectacular drive from Mendocino to this place and back to SFO. The drive is stunning beyond words and changes from spectacular cliffs to vineyards to redwood trees..

Travel Tip – They have different hours of operation based on the season. Check it out before planning a trip. A fee of $5 is charged for visiting the lighthouse.
