No makeup and still beautiful

No makeup, bad hair day and still totally owning who I am! If I ain’t gonna be proud of the face I am born with, who will be?

Makeup or no makeup, bad hair day or no bad hair day; you all are bomb-dot-coms. *you guys now better start believing me. In my blogging history, I have repeated this statement atleast a 1000 times! 🤷‍♀️* I rarely see gorgeous ladies around me celebrating who they are in all their natural glory. I see too many pictures and videos where women are constantly apologizing for their makeup free faces and bad hair days. It’s almost like their natural faces emit mutant type radiations that have the ability to cause destruction. *totally copied from something called x-men 🙈*.   Oh it completely breaks my heart. It was kinda putting me off social media and the whole online world. Like why, why would you do that? What’s wrong with dark circles, crooked teeth , limp hair , freckles, pimples, pigmentation..? And most importantly, why do we call them imperfections? To me, these are what make you “YOU” in the most authentic and beautiful way.

When a woman apologizes for not looking “put-together” it’s almost like you are telling a young girl that her worth is determined based on how she looks and looking presentable at all times on the internet is non-negotiable. It promotes an unhealthy body image and you know I am not cool with that. Ok let’s imagine you absolutely adore a blogger *me me me. ok fine whatever* or a youtuber and that person rarely shares a picture/video without makeup. On days they do look like us *I mean absolutely stunning!cmn. 😎*, they are constantly apologizing. How do you think that is going to make you feel? Consciously or unconsciously you are going to equate a natural face to something that’s unacceptable and something that can make others uncomfortable. *I still don’t know how 🤔but you get my point*.

I strongly feel that people in the digital world have the ability to influence others and hence need to showcase real life moments as much as the perfect jet-setting life. If you want to make a positive impact on someone, show more of your real self and encourage them to own who they are whole-heartedly. I am in no way attacking anyone but the online world has a lot of power and I know how badly it can affect a persons self-confidence. So to all my online friends, please don’t apologize for your so called “imperfections” but rather own every inch of you. To people who are on the other end of the spectrum, your worth is not determined by the way you look and there is absolutely nothing wrong or to be ashamed of a natural, makeup free face. You are still beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, worthy and valuable!

I am not saying that makeup is evil or you are evil if you wear it.. That way I am the evilest *my contributions are not just limited to making you guys feel better but also in improving the english language by introducing new words. 🙄*  because I love wearing makeup. But what I am trying to convey is that don’t make these things a crutch to your existence and stop insulting yourself by constantly apologizing for your freckles, pimples, blackheads, dark circles and all the good stuff! I touched on this topic here and since then I have been meaning to do a shoot without makeup and fortunately or unfortunately, it coincided with bad hair day. *Hurray*

About the Outfit

I got out of the house in flat 5 minutes for this shoot. It was divine! Coming to the outfit, you guys know I absolutely love repeating clothes. I feel like an artist creating different looks with the same pieces. *cough self-promotion cough*. Embroidery is so in this season. Embroidered bags, shoes, clothes.. It’s everywhere. I got this embroidered dress from Shein and love how easy breezy it is. But it is pretty short even for me who is not that tall. Combined it with the culottes I last wore here and the result was not that bad.

If there’s one thing you take away from this post then let it be this – You are just as beautiful without makeup as you are with it!

Thank you so much for stopping by. See ya all soon.. – Love, M ❤️

  1. 1. You write so well. Feels like a story.
    2. You are so correct. I think I don’t step out of the house without Kajal and liner, though few years back I used to go out with literally no make up on. Today, I feel naked if I don’t put it. But you said it so rightly.
    3. Shein never lets you down, right? Love the tunic and those flare pants

    1. Thank you so so much Prachi!! Oh I had a phase where I just couldn’t get myself to go out without kajal.. But now I rarely wear it. But as I said, its not about not wearing makeup but more about feeling confident even without it. And you are such a gorgeous human. Makeup or no makeup 🙂 Yeah, thankfully my experience has been good with Shein! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! <3
