Choker sweater and get out of your head

I have been in a funk lately. All the things I propagate in my little blog.. oh well I was doing the opposite. Like? Question every move of mine, feel stupid sharing anything on the blog/social media, feel not so good about my body or myself in general, find faults in everything I did, feel like I am falling behind in life, comparing my life to everyone and I mean everyone *including my dog. After all who has a better life than these fluffy little babies 🤷‍♀️?!*, not taking action because of the fear of failure .. you get my point. 🙈 It was like lightning striking the same spot again and again. This girl was bruised and battered. *oh-so-dramatic Monika 🤦🏽‍♀️* Ok fine, it wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t good either.

It’s impossible to feel positive and strive to be happy all the time. *punch me but with a feather if I tell you otherwise in future*. It’s on days/weeks/months you are falling apart that the real test of your patience/grit takes place. And guys I almost always suck during these times! 🤷‍♀️#realtalkwillbethedeathofme. I am still learning to tread the path in a more mature way. I let things affect me easily and then I sulk and sulk and sulk. BUT atleast now I know I’ll find my way back. It may take days, weeks but this girl will be victorious. *plays Rocky anthem in the background! 🎼 😎*. 

Day before yesterday I decided that enough is enough. So the next logical step was to buy a new journal and wait for it to arrive so that I could pen down my thoughts and hence get back to my awesome life. *2 things to note here.  1. I have a million journals already but a new one was somehow going to make life better! 🤷‍♀️ 2. The journal arrived today so I continued sulking for 2 days after deciding enough is enough * Yes, I have my priorities right! 🤦🏽‍♀️But in all seriousness, I would highly highly recommend journaling. Write for yourself, pen down all the emotions that are pent up inside. It will help you relax and is extremely therapeutic. Also, keep some space for grateful journaling. Write about things you are grateful in life. Sometimes we all lose perspective and seeing it in paper helps us realize how freakingly lucky we are!

I wanted to share a snippet of my journal that I feel has universal value *Monika the guru 🙈*.. It was titled “GET OUT OF YOUR HEAD”!

  1. Work on letting go of past events and mistakes. They are in the past for a reason.
  2. Stop listening to the voices in your head that say you aren’t good enough.
  3. Stop comparing your life with others. Focus on “you” for today. The decisions you make, the life you decide to live, the path you form is all yours.
  4. Take one step at a time, one day at a time. Stop worrying about the end result or getting overwhelmed with everything that lies ahead.
  5. Try to quieten the thoughts that say mean things like “what’s the point trying. you are anyways going to go back to your usual sad self”.. STOP the negative chatter!

Leggings again? Yes yes yes yes! I told you athleisure gives me life. *in other words, I don’t own too many clothes 😬*. Choker sweater is so in trend and I finally got my hands on it. I was expecting this choker sweater to be a bit longer but I don’t really mind as I get to layer it for the weird weather we are having in Cali! Also, I finalllyyyy own a sneaker in a color other than white!! Oh Monika you are finally rich enough to buy new things? Oh no, I just went to the Outlet mall and got these Puma babies for $18.. 😎

I am pretty sure this happens to most of the people out there but to accept the flaws, make a comeback and kick ass is what matters.
