Fall playing peek-a-boo

Fall is my favorite season.ย The crisp air, the smell of pumpkins and spice, the gorgeous sight of colorful leaves, the warmth and coziness of fuzzy socks.. Imagine a room with an aromatic candle burning, a huge window that is slightly open letting the breeze in with the mesmerizing sight of yellow/orange trees and you are tucked inside a fluffy blanket with a warm tea and a book. This is the stuff dreams are made of. #wistful-thinking ๐Ÿ‚ย Do you want to know what the reality is as I write this blog? Well,ย I am sitting in shorts with my hair tied up, windows closed, AC in full blast, sipping the coldest of cold coffee, sweating and looking like a pig. ๐Ÿทย #pigs-are-cute-though! A far cry from the coziness radiated in this post. Fall has been playing peek-a-boo with us, just like the sleeve of this dress. ๐Ÿ™ˆย  #monika-is-seriously-rad ๐Ÿ˜Ž

fall-playing-peek-a-boo

fall-playing-peek-a-booI am ready for some fall fashion, fall or fall. Girl I need to get my booties and scarves on! Hence, I have decided that this post will officially mark the beginning of fall/winter fashion on palateforstyle. #my-blog-my-rules #I-feel-so-rebellious. My next few posts are going to be focused on outfits anybody can whip up in a minute and transition into fall like a boss. These outfits are wearable and if I may say so (ofcouse I will ๐Ÿ™ˆ), not bad to look at too. #comfort-always-comes-first #if-it’s-cute-and-fashionable #win-win! Yes, more than fall fashion, this post is all about showing you guys that I know how to use hashtags (after all #cool-people-talk-in-hastags-with-hyphens). โœŒ๐Ÿฝ

Apart from making you all laugh, my blogs are also educational. Right, right, right, right, right, right, right? I will continue saying right, right, right until I see that pretty head of yours nod. Yes, I am spying on all of you with a camera #person-of-interest-just-got-real. Lol sorry that came out too creepy.. I am kidding or am I kidding? ๐Ÿ˜ย Ok so the whole point of this creepiness is to tell you guys that in every post for fall fashion, I’ll be talking about some key pieces that make outfits fun and fall/winter bearable. This will come straight to you from #Monika’s-School-of-Fashion! *Right now only my family is enrolled but in future I have plans of expanding. Keep an eye out. #I-ramble-way-too-much!!* Maybeย some of these items are in trend for fall 2016 or maybe not. Being honest, I am not entirely sure. I pick up clothes that I like and feel good in. And if they do turn out to be trendy, I feel soooooo proud because I genuinely have so much respect for people who know what pieces are in trend and make an effort to research and share with us. #hats-off-to-my-wonderful-fashion-blogger-friends. I have seriously learnt so much about fashion from all of them in some way or the other <3

For this post, let’s talk about two pieces that not only make an outfit stylish but are also 0h-so practical for fall weather:

Booties:

Grab one as soon as possible! Booties are perfect year around and can be worn in summer, fall, winter, spring, you name the season… You will get alot of wear out of them and they are definitely worth the investment.

Almost flat heel – If you walk around a lot, get something similar to the one I am wearing in this post. Comfortable and chic at the same time.

Block and platform heelย – I have short legs. No secret here ๐Ÿ˜. I like to wear heels as they give an illusion of longer legs but I can’t take the pain of walking in them for a long time. I told you, comfort before fashion! Enterย block and platform heels. They are definitely so much more comfortable than pointed heels and still give a nice, stylish look.

Pointed heels -If you want some snazzz and jazzz, go all out and buy booties with heels. They make an outfit look very put together, are perfect for a fancy night out and ย especially times when you want to feel dressier.

I have linked below a number of options to meet all your needs –

Scarves:

Another practical item for cooler weather. I am a huge fan of bright colored scarves to make the gloomy days during winter a bit more bearable. ๐ŸŒป
