Wear your own cape..

Be your own superhero and wear that cape! Give yourself permission to be you in the most authentic sense. Scared the world won’t approve? Well the bad news is that the world(*a certain section of society*) will always find a way to mess with your head. The good news is that you have the strength to move past and create your wonderful reality.

You love to dress up. *The world assumes you have low IQ*

You hate to dress up. *The world assumes you don’t take good care of yourself*

You love short clothes. *The world assumes you want attention *

You hate short clothes. *The world assumes you are too conservative and no fun*

You love makeup. *The world assumes you are too much into outer beauty*

You hate makeup. *The world assumes you hate women who love makeup*

You love technology. *The world assumes you must hate everything related to fashion and beauty*

You hate technology. *The world assumes you are not smart*

You love to party. *The world assumes you are an easy woman*

You hate to party. *The world assumes you are boring*

You are an introvert. *The world assumes you hate other people*

You are an extrovert. *The world assumes you are superficial and not comfortable with meaningful conversations*

You love to pose. *The world assumes you are too self-absorbed*

You hate to pose. *The world assumes you are not happy with the way you look*

You are a 9-5 job kind of person. *The world assumes you are not ambitious*

You hate 9-5 jobs. *The world assumes you can never be financially stable*

You have dreams. *The world assumes you are irresponsible*

You are happy with how life is with no big aspirations. *The world assumes you are not living life to the fullest*

I can go on and on but you get my point 🙂

Are you strong enough to wear your super/cat/wonder woman cape and make your own choices? – Love, M ❤️

  2. Best post ever! Very true about the pre-conceived judgements people have. I will admit I myself have done that a few times without even realizing it. Live and let live should be what people should live by…Great job girl..keep ’em coming

    1. Thank you so much Shelly for stopping by 🙂 Yeah, there’s so much judgement all around.. We all need to chill and do what our heart desires! Hope you have the best week ahead <3

  3. Babe this post is everything. When I wanted to start blogging, I was made fun that I should better blog on cooking and nail art, not on fashion. I keep thinking how people assume them-self as so great that they judge others… to be frank they are no where good. But then who cares about all the negativity, have the positive attitude and keep moving. You boosted my energy. Have a great week Monica. Hugs.

    1. I am so glad you liked the post Veena! Oh some people have the tendency to put you down..My point is don’t be negative if you don’t understand something and let the person live his/her passion. You are doing a wonderful job and I am so glad you did not let anyone else’s opinions affect you. Have a fantastic week love <3

  4. wait..what!!! Mind Blowing post!! :* also, i couldn’t take my eyes off of you :* But I just loved how you delivered such a powerful message with such a few words! You are a true inspiration 🙂

  5. Wow sweetie you are so right, we have to live our life as we want, we don’t have to care what people think. The important thing is to stay true to yourself! Great post, and you look so beautiful and happy in these photos.
    Gorgeous inside and out.
I wish you an amazing week!

  6. be fearlessly authentic, i like that. it’s not as easy as it sounds though, right? but it’s like that saying… the journey uphill is challenging but once you get to the top, the view is pretty amazing (or something like that :p)

  7. I love your free spirit and overall positive attitude, Monika. You are truly a beautiful woman, both inside and out! I couldn’t agree more with this post, everything you’ve stated is unfortunately true of our society. One thing I’d like to add is that people will love you one day and hate you the next. We have to be so confident in who we are and what we are capable of being and offering to those who love and support us, to the point that we can be ourselves, our true selves and unapologetically, too! I love that duster cardigan and booties! Oh, and girl your hair is just fabulous, love it! Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you have the absolute best week ahead, gorgeous girlie!

  8. I think I’m at the point in my life where I’m past caring what other people think about what I’m wearing. I dress for me. And I deserve a cape. 😉

    1. Absolutely Chelsea! We are here for a short time so why waste time living an inauthentic life 🙂 Thank you for your sweet comment. Hope you are having a good week!

  9. Sometimes, it really does feel like you can’t win no matter what you choose, which makes the whole staying-true-to-yourself thing even more important! Love that outfit–so cute!

    1. I so agree Natalie.. No matter how much you try, you can’t really change someones opinion if they don’t want to! We just do our best to live a truthful and honest life 🙂 Thank you for stopping by.

  10. I love this, seriously beautifully written! I hate when so much is assumed by so little… this is something I started noticing more when I made the decision to just watch and listen… it’s better to just forget about what other people assume and do you 🙂 thanks so much for sharing this post!

    1. Thank you so much Natasha. Everyone has alot to say; sometimes it’s great and sometimes not so. We just have to learn to filter out the negative part 🙂 Hope you are having a good day!

    1. You are too kind Hollie 🙂 Thank you for stopping by. I want to encourage each and everyone woman to wear the cape and have the courage to be authentic! Hope you are having a good week!

    1. Absolutely Warren! Life is too short to be lived by rules your heart doesn’t believe in. Thank you for stopping by and hope you are having a good week 🙂

  11. I loveee this post Monica, so beautifully! It is the unfortunate truth of our society and frankly, we should stop caring about other negativity around us and people who cannot stand our success or have something negative to say about anything and everything under the sun! As long as we have the faith and confidence in what we do and most importably in ourselves, nothing else should matter, who cares what the world says right!? Love that cape and such pretty pictures love!

    1. You are completely on point, Kusum! People will always have opinions but we need to decide what works for us and what doesn’t. Thank you so much for your sweet comment! 🙂 Hope you are having a great day!

  12. This is a beautiful post Monika! I agree with you a 100%! There will always be people to pull you down, to tell you’re wrong, that you’re unreasonable when you tell them of your dreams and I can go on!! I’m glad I never had the time or any f’s to give to such people! I’m glad I didn’t, although there a lot of people I know who are so bothered to take a step ahead without having to carry a baggage of what people will say! This boggles my mind to another level! I hope this post reaches people who are in constant concern of ‘log Kya kahenge’ that they almost forget to live!

You look great in that black cape top and those shorts are so cute! Hope you’re having a great day! ❤️

    1. Thank you so much Swati! I am so glad you have always had the strength to look past unwanted opinions and create your own destiny. Not alot of people can say the same and yes, “log kya kahenge” has killed so many dreams. I’ll be the happiest if this post can inspire even one person to take the first step towards authenticity. Hope you are having a great week love 🙂

    1. Awww thank you so much Nisha for always saying the most sweetest things! You are definitely a superwoman handling home, work and blog so well!! Hope you are having a great week 🙂

  13. That’s an amazing outfit and message! Being a super woman definitely isn’t easy but it’s worth the effort – only if we manage to break free from society’s judgement we achieve real freedom. xx

  14. This post is so inspiring; thank you so much for this.
It’s true that everything has a different side to it, and that sometimes media and people around us can set us to the wrong thinking pattern. I really felt it when I started blogging and told some people about it.
But I am just happy we have a really cool community here to keep ourselves motivated:)

  15. Whoaaa !! My comment will be lost in between so many !! but you should know, I came, I stopped, I read, I smiled 😀 So much conveyed in so little !! keeeeeeeep going !!

    1. Ankitaaa your comment is way too special to be lost, no matter how many others are there 🙂 Thank you sooo much for the time taking out to read the post. You made my day :* Hope you are having a great weekend!

  16. I absolutely loved this post Monica! You’re always such an inspiration. I really feel very happy and confident about myself after reading your posts. And yes, I’m ready to wear my cape and make my own decisions. 🙂 One of the most important lessons we all should remember is that we shouldn’t let others hold us back from doing what we actually want to do. It’s quite natural and normal to feel what the world might think, but our energy would be better spent focusing on us rather than others and do what we love. There’s really a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction in that.
Hope you’re having a great weekend love! 🙂

    1. Thank you so so much Kavya! I absolutely love love reading your comments.. They make my day instantly :* And I completely agree on spending all the energy on us rather than the world.. You just can’t make everyone happy after all! Hope you are having a fantastic week gorgeous 🙂

  17. I’m in love with what you’re written. So so true and so beautiful. Especially coming from India, I realize all these judgments need to left out the door and we shouldn’t restrict ourselves from being our best and most authentic self! I love your outfit and that pop of light green/ blue is so beautiful to this outfit!! Kisses!

    1. Thank you so much Tivoli! It’s so great to see your sweet comments 🙂 Oh yes, all the judgement and pre-conceived notions need to be left behind! Hope you had a fantastic weekend love!
